Beginner Golf Tips

Golf entails a lot of training and practice compared with other sports. You start by learning how to use yourdesigner golf gear, make sure you find a place for golf clubs training and most importantly, select the best golf footwear. Being the sport it is, golf isn’t so easy so here are a few sugesstions for newbies:

* Make a wise choice- the first thing you need to do is select your first set of clubs. Everyone knows golf is quite an expensive game and its gear could cost thousands of dollars. As a beginner don’t try to go for the latest branded golf accessories! Remember-golf isn’t for everyone so there is a possibility that you might end up leaving the sport. A total waste of money! Comforting to know though that many of the leading brands including Wilson, Dunlop and Knight do have packages available that are quite affordable.

You can also find good clubs at garage sales. Seasoned golfers usually replace their gear so you would be able to find some cheap high quality clubs.

Basically avoid overspending since you’re still a beginner. Focus on improving your skills first before getting a more expensive set of clubs.

*Get to know the game- once you know the rules, get some lessons. If money isn’t a ‘problem’ for you then you might consider enrolling in a golf school. You’d learn fast this way. For those with a smaller budget, getting lessons from pro golfers at the club would be best.

* Practice- for your first practice sessions you might just want to use the backyard and find some bucket to shoot the balls in. This way no need to worry about doing bad and you can perfecting your swing. Then you can move to your living room for putting practice.

If you have the money, the training grounds on golf clubs are a better choice.

* Play- once you’re comfortable with your swings and think you can play with  a few people watching you without making a fool of yourself, find a place to play. A real course is what you need- not any lawn will do.

Try out the Par 3 courss instead of the normal full sized ones since these are shorter. You might also want to make sure the course isn’t too crowded, you won’t want a lot of people watch you make mistakes.
